US Stock Market Looking Positive In 2018 With Last Trade Close
It’s officially the start of the New Year today and everyone hyped and thrilled to start it the right way! For businessmen and stock traders, we’re all excited to start trading for the year in hopes of maintaining our surging performance and investment return. And it seems there’s a reason behind the optimism because the U.S Stock market’s performance surges high during the last day of trading last year. It seems that despite all the challenges we’ve endured throughout the year, there is still hope and a positive outlook to start the year 2018 right.
US Stock Market Surges with Record-breaking Performance in the Last Trade of 2017
The Dow record on Friday seems to hit a new score by becoming the 71st high close trade in the year 2017. The Wall Street states that this performance in the stock market has been the best trade the country had ever had since 2013. The Dow also stated that it’s their sixth consecutive highest rating and trade gains ever since. It can be remembered that Dow’s last high-time performance was in 1954. The S&P, on the other hand, had this record in 1973. These companies only had one negative month performance this year. This seems to banish any negative thoughts about the looming Republican tax bill considering the stock market’s performance. Let’s go over some of the giant companies with the excellent performance last year.
Dow’s Last Performance in Friday Session
Aside from the company’s outstanding figures and statistics above, the company had yielded around 26% index rate for the year 2017. While the S&P had increased their performance to 20% while the Nasdaq had reached 30%. Their stocks continue to increase and they’re positive it can go higher ever since President Trump had ascended to the presidency in November 2016.
Apple
Despite the controversy the prestigious tech company Apple had suffered because of the news of slow-performance iPhones due to defective batteries around the world, it seems Apple’s stock is still surging high. The Apple’s stock had a record-breaking 47% total performance in the year 2017. While the company is happy that their customers and investors loyalty and trust is still on them, they issued an apology statement about the incident and they’ve also promised to fix this error. They also said that big discounts to those users who suffered from the excessive draining battery to have their batteries replaced for only $29.
Oil Prices
The Oil Prices, on the other hand, had also hit their highest index rate ever since their last record in mid-2015. This is due to the plummet in commercial crude inventories. WTI made a record of 11% index rate in the year 2017 and they’re positive to keep their records this year.
Caution Signs to Monitor in 2018
Despite the positive outlook of the last stock performance last year, the financial experts are still warning the public of the impending challenges it may face this year 2018. One key element in affecting the US stock market is the upcoming Italian election in March. The rising group seeking for the power of parliament is posing a challenge that could end the reign of four-time Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The outcome of the said election may or may not hurt the US dollars too.
And speaking of the US dollars, U.S. Federal Reserve is set to increase their interest rate as lawmakers passed the Republican tax bill. These chain events could hit the US dollar in a losing streak by 9.7 percent. This could become the greatest US decline the country will experience ever since 2003. However, the US dollars losses are also gain for the emerging market, with Euro surging up to 14% this year. The US decline had also lifted the prices when it comes to import and export commodities, which greatly benefited the global trade and strong demand from China.
The Coal and Metal Industry
A positive outlook you can anticipate in the year 2018 though is the gain of the metal industry. The Copper has long become a standout performer this year because of the rising demand for electric vehicles for mass transportation. Gold is also expected to continue excelling in the stock market despite the warnings issued against imitation.
