Should You Prefer Tips On Instagram & TikTok Over Financial Advisors?

There is the latest on all social media platforms where ‘influencers’ can be seen roaming the French Riveria or hopping on private jets, all the while flaunting their riches. Looking at the trend, it turns out that Gen Z (especially the ones who are between the age of 18 to 25) are obsessed with a lavish lifestyle. On Instagram or Twitter, there are thousands of hashtags where users can be seen posting pictures of themselves and the French Riveria. As you scroll through these pictures, you may feel as if you are not rich enough to visit places other people can. This is a natural human instinct and a big reason why excessive social media usage can result in a sense of low self-esteem.

Should You Be Influenced By What You See On Social Media?

So, the question is: What should you do at this point? Should these so-called social media influencers influence you? Or, should you figure out how to make more money and travel to these vacation spots like the uber-rich? Looking at the surface level, it would sound that the latter is a an option worth considering. Staring at the pictures of others will do you no good. Instead, it will lower your self-confidence and in turn, your self-esteem too. So, setting yourself up for financial success is a sensible decision. So that you can be able to roam on destination points and not leave French Riveria. It is no secret that you can travel across the world and explore new places if you have enough money. Instead of seeing others enjoying these places, you can go there and make lifelong memories.

Most Of What You See On Social Media is Fake!

It is a natural human instinct to judge a book by its cover. What comes to your mind when you look at the picture of your friend posing for an attractive picture on the beach? You must be thinking, “This guy is living the perfect life and he’s got everything figured out.” But the truth is that life on Instagram is, in fact, not real life. You do not – and can not – see what is actually going on in reality.

So, do not be impressed by someone who is seemingly happy on Instagram. To make the matter worse, these people give out ruthless financial advice. These pieces of advice are unsolicited. So, do not listen to every financial that you hear on social media. Everything you see on Insta is not real. Do not let others dictate your life on social media.
