Tips to Work Efficiently While Staying at Home

With the on-going pandemic, normal, carefree life has come to a halt. Everyone is tensed about everything and wishes to get back to the good old days. But no one knows if we’ll ever get there!

According to Tedros Adhanom, director-general of WHO, we can never go back to the old normal. He says that we have to learn to live with the virus even after the vaccine is out because it won’t work like magic. It’ll only help in building immunity so that recovery can be faster.

So if we’re going to live like this, we have to learn to be smart in order to stay sane. And this is especially true for the working people. Working from home isn’t easy. There are constant distractions and a significant lack of communication with co-workers. As such, people have to put in more effort to survive and sustain.

Here are a few ways that can help you perform better while working from home:

Work more via FaceTime

Engaging through mail chains was okay when people met in person every now and then. But with that becoming impossible, it is best if you connect with your colleagues via video calling. FaceTime will keep you connected with your peers and superiors, and will also make you feel as if you’re talking to them in person.

Explore the Social world

Networking is important for professional growth. If you can’t meet people in person, don’t put off connecting to them on social platforms. This way you’ll meet new people and learn more about the field you’re working in.

Feedback helps

Many people take criticism in a negative sense, but the truth is that feedback actually works. If you’re not performing well and you receive constructive criticism, you should try to use it and work harder on improving yourself. Of course, it depends from person to person, but if you have a compatible relationship with your peers and seniors, it can become very motivating.

Look for a mentor

Nobody is perfect. Though we may try to be the best, having a mentor can be of great help. Such an individual can guide you and motivate you throughout your life.

Differentiate between personal and professional life

We’re not kidding! Even if you’re working from home, giving credit to your personal time matters. Once you’re done with your tasks, close your laptop, change your clothes, and relax with your family. Stay away from the desk till the next morning. This way you’ll stay sane and positive.

Summing it up

In such vicious times, motivation is hard to find, but we need to stay patient. Like every other problem, this phase will also come to an end, and all of us will have a better future. So, be positive and hope for the best.
